Evil Desire - Episode 6
It was five in the evening; Lyla was almost at the airport. She felt a little edgy about this mysterious meeting with Myrna Loy. That name seemed familiar but she couldn’t remember where she had heard it. What on earth could be so threatening about Walter that would require such cloak-and-dagger reactions? Walter was so loving, kind and sensitive. She pictured him in her mind, his smile his five o’clock shadow and close cut hair—a great guy. A horn blew loudly from behind her. She looked at the green light and pressed the accelerator.
She’d better give Sally a call just to make sure she was on track. She pressed speed dial and waited.
“Hey, it’s me. Are you at the airport now?”
“Yep. And I think if I’m not in Starbucks I can still see and take pictures. So, I’ll probably be in and out.”
“Okay, sounds like we’re set. Let’s check in on our cells on the way home.”
Lyla turned into the parking garage and parked. The tension was growing. She searched in her bag for an Advil to ward off what was surely an oncoming headache.
